[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ew York Forum of Amazigh Film (NYFAF) will return for its fourth edition on April 26-27, 2018 at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Queens, New York. NYFAF offers a unique platform to discover North African culture and knowledge and to showcase the cinematic works of its people with particular focus on films created about Imazighen, the indigenous people of the region.

NYFAF will host a series of film screenings, panel discussions and art exhibitions throughout two days. The theme of the festival this year is Amazigh woman. The theme was purposefully chosen to introduce our audience to narratives and stories on the role of Amazigh women in the struggle and identity reconstruction of the Amazigh community as well as their role in shaping the very identity of contemporary and historical North African societies. [ads1]

Keeping quality and diversity in mind, NYFAF is now calling for submissions of films under four categories: documentaries, short films, short documentaries, and feature fictions. As always, NYFAF is open to engage the work of both local and diasporic filmmakers, amateur filmmakers, artists, journalists, and film critics.

Submission to the festival can be done by contacting: [email protected] or [email protected]. The submission deadline is February 1st, 2018.
